KCRiverFest, “Kansas City’s Riverfront Tradition” Set for July 3-4

(KANSAS CITY) Independence Day fireworks will entertain thousands on the banks of the Mighty Missouri River once again for the fourth annual KCRiverFest, a family event supporting Friends of the River – Kansas City July 3rd and 4th.

Located at Kansas City’s Riverfront at Berkley Park, KCRiverFest has become “Kansas City’s Riverfront Tradition;” known as the only place in downtown Kansas City to celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks and family entertainment.

The event will feature food, extreme river sports demonstrations, the KC Kite Club, a Brewfest, exhibits, children’s activities and musical entertainment by local bands culminating in a stirring performance by the U.S. Air Force Band prior to a Spectacular Firework display on July 4th.

“The fun and exciting activities at KCRiverFest are developed to create awareness of the history and development of the Missouri River in our area,” said Friends of the River – Kansas City (FOR-KC) Board Chairman George Pisciotta. “Tens of thousands of Kansas Citians have attended this event in the past, and this year promises to be bigger and better. We have many great opportunities for local businesses, corporations and civic organizations to become a part of this popular family event.”

Several levels of sponsorship are available to support KCRiverFest.

“This is a really high visibility place for corporate citizens and others to demonstrate their pride in America and our city,” said Chris Gutierrez, event chairperson. “KCRiverFest is not only about our heritage, but also about the quality of life in our community. That’s why we’re so happy to welcome new sponsors dedicated to making KCRiverFest bigger and better.”

For more information about sponsorship opportunities, contact the KCRiverFest event directors at EventPros, 816.960.3400. A new website will be online soon. FOR-KC is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to celebrate the heritage and to promote the development of the Kansas City riverfront through education, community outreach, volunteer commitment and fundraising.
